Once you have declared your willingness to accept the appointment in principle, a coordination meeting will take place within the faculty.

In this meeting

in an appreciative atmosphere

  • the material resources of the professorship and
  • the timing of the appointment.

Please contact the dean of the faculty for this purpose.

Following the coordination meeting with the faculty, a binding acceptance or rejection of the appointment will be requested within the specified period.

After acceptance of the appointment

Once the appointment has been accepted, the appointment agreement must be signed. This declares the legally binding acceptance of the appointment (only for tenure track professorships). After this, the four-week period must be waited for with regard to the submission of a possible competitor action by Paderborn University. Following this period, the appointment can be made if all the necessary requirements are met. In the case of a civil service appointment, this takes place by handing over the certificate of appointment or, in the case of a private law employment relationship, by concluding the employment contract. The certificate of appointment can be handed over or the contract of employment signed at the earliest 4 weeks before the start of employment.
