University choir UniSono

UniSono is the university choir of the University of Paderborn. The approximately 60 singers are made up of students, university staff, and external interested parties of all ages from Paderborn and the surrounding area. Our repertoire is just as colorful as the choir itself: from classical choral music to gospel and musicals to pop and jazz.

Two major concerts are prepared during the year, a summer concert and an Advent concert. The choir prepares intensively for upcoming concerts during choir weekends. Fun and fellowship are never neglected during these weekends.

Our rehearsals take place on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the foyer of the Audimax. Rehearsals last until around 8:30 p.m. Rehearsal rooms H7.321 and H8.125 are used as alternative rooms when the Audimax is not available.

We also have our own official website:   https://www.unisono-paderborn.de. You can get an impression of our art on our Youtube channel UnisonoPaderborn.

UniSono invites you to an Advent concert at Maria zur H?he

The UniSono choir of Paderborn University will get everyone in the mood for Advent with festive music on Sunday, December 7, 2025. The concert will begin at 5 p.m. in the Maria zur H?he church (Am Rippinger Weg 3), with doors opening 45 minutes beforehand. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

Under the direction of Gundula Hense, the approximately 70 singers will present a varied program that will get you in the mood for the Advent season with atmospheric and festive choral music. The choir will be accompanied on the piano by Sascha Mannheims, while Stefanie Leinfellner will guide you through the evening with sensitively selected texts.

The musical repertoire ranges from modern compositions to traditional songs. Among others, the touching “My Lord has Come” by British composer Will Todd, the festive “I Wish You Christmas” by John Rutter, and the heartfelt and meditative “Sing Gently” by Eric Whitacre will be performed. Well-known Advent and Christmas carols such as “Zu Bethlehem geboren” and “In dulci jubilo” also invite listeners to pause and join in.

With its varied program, UniSono once again offers a musical highlight during Advent in Paderborn. Music and texts combine to create an atmosphere of peace and contemplation – an ideal moment to pause amid the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle.
