Course aimsThis course provides an overview of good research data management throughout the various phases of a research project. From the proposal stage through active project work to post-project archiving, best practices and practical solutions will be presented. Particular attention will be given to the tools and support services available at Paderborn University.

  • What do I need to consider already at the proposal stage?
  • What is a data management plan? What options are available at UPB?
  • Storing and managing data during a project
  • Overview of suitable file formats
  • What are metadata? Where can I find appropriate standards?
  • Long-term archiving and publication of data
