Financing

Sufficient funding is a basic prerequisite for a successful stay abroad - so find out about funding opportunities and application deadlines early on. You can find information on the costs you may incur here.

There is a wide range of sponsors and financing options. The International Office itself offers funding opportunities via Erasmus+, PROMOS and the Cross-Boarder-Studies Scholarship.

Of course, you are free to find out about other offers on your own.

Erasmus+ (Pro­gramme coun­tries)

Erasmus+ funding for a stay at a partner university in one of the EU member states, as well as in Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Turkey.

Erasmus+ (part­ner coun­tries)

Erasmus+ funding for a stay at a partner university in a non-European partner country of Paderborn University.

PROMOS

PROMOS partial scholarship for exchange semesters and study-related internships outside the Erasmus+ area.

Cross Bor­der Stud­ies par­tial schol­ar­ship

The Phoenix Contact Foundation's Cross Border Studies partial scholarship programme for STEM students for stays at a non-European host university

Baf?g abroad

The Auslands-BAf?G provides financial support for living expenses, travel expenses and, if applicable, health insurance abroad

Daka stu­dent loan

Daka provides loans specifically for semesters abroad. Applications are made via the Paderborn Student Union.
