German Studies Partnership ?Tunis – Carthage – Jendouba – Paderborn: Innovative German Studies in Tunisia“
Overview
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is funding the German Language, Literature and Culture: Institutional Partnership (GIP) between the Institute of German and Comparative Literature at Paderborn University and the Tunisian universities of Carthage (Tunis), Jendouba and La Manouba as part of the ‘Institutional Partnerships Worldwide 2025-2027’ programme. The financial support from the DAAD enables a variety of measures: reciprocal research and teaching visits by Tunisian and German university lecturers, workshops at the participating universities - in particular for the promotion and international networking of doctoral students and postdocs - as well as the joint development of curricula, teaching modules, teaching/learning materials and courses with the partner institutes. Thematically, the focus is on perspectives of German post-migrant society and its relations with the Maghreb: contemporary literature with its intercultural accents is taken into account as well as media and public discourses, which are to be critically analysed and made visible in their interactions with the Arab and Maghreb world.
