Since 1 September, Anna Nickel has been the new director of the Paderborn University Library, which was founded in 1972. She succeeds Dr. Dietmar Haubfleisch, who retired in July.

The board of the Paderborn Institute for Lightweight Design with Hybrid Systems (ILH) has unanimously elected Prof Dr.-Ing. Mirko Schaper as its new chairman. The Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (BLB NRW) and Paderborn University have laid the foundation stone for the new buildings Z1 and Z2: This marks the beginning of a new chapter on the campus. The symbolic act marks an important milestone in the construction phase of the two buildings.
Paderborn chemistry didactics expert Prof Dr Sabine Fechner has been elected spokesperson of the board of the "Gesellschaft für Didaktik der Chemie und Physik" (GDCP). At the same time, the scientific society is relocating its office to Paderborn University.
